From Bank Advisor to Self-Directed Investor

WafflesX was built from nearly a decade inside Canadian banking and a conviction that the way people save, invest, and build wealth is changing.

For nine years, WafflesX worked in Canadian banking, ultimately serving as a Senior Financial Advisor. The work centered on customized financial plans, retirement strategy, investment portfolios, mortgages, credit, and helping clients make sense of the financial decisions that shape a lifetime.

The traditional path was clear: build a career, invest steadily, grow patiently, and work toward retirement over decades. WafflesX respects that foundation—but also recognizes that the default path does not always give people the full context, confidence, or flexibility to shape a life on their own terms.

Crypto changed that perspective.

The journey began early with Ethereum and included one of the space’s hard lessons when those holdings were lost in the QuadrigaCX collapse. Returning to crypto in 2021 revealed a dramatically more mature ecosystem: Bitcoin ETFs, institutional adoption, decentralized finance, improving blockchain infrastructure, and a global community building new financial rails in public.

In 2022, WafflesX left banking to pursue self-directed investing, trading, Web3, and income-focused strategies full time. It meant giving up predictable income and conventional career certainty for greater responsibility, more volatility, and greater ownership of time.

That is what WafflesX is known for: translating the gap between traditional finance and the digital economy. WafflesX covers Bitcoin, ETFs, income investing, Web3, AI, financial independence, and the psychology required to make sound decisions when markets become emotional. The goal is not to reject traditional finance, but to understand it, use its tools intentionally, and recognize where new technology creates more options.[1]

WafflesX is also shaped by the belief that wealth should create more than a larger number on a screen. It should create time, choice, resilience, and space to enjoy life.

After losing both parents at a young age, WafflesX was forced to slow down, reassess what matters, and develop a deeper appreciation for the small things: a quiet acreage, time in nature, returning to creative work, and a life not measured primarily by material things. That perspective informs the approach to markets. Financial independence is not presented as an escape from life or a race for status; it is a path toward greater agency—the ability to choose how time is spent, what work is worth doing, and what kind of future is being built.

Before Web3 became a full-time focus, photography was a creative outlet, including work connected to the Calgary Stampede. That same curiosity remains central to WafflesX: keep learning, keep creating, stay grounded, and never stop growing.

WafflesX is committed to helping more people understand the tools available across both traditional and emerging finance. The longer-term mission includes supporting Indigenous people, creators, and businesses as they explore financial literacy, self-directed investing, digital tools, Web3, AI, and new forms of economic participation. This work is reflected in the Indigenous-focused resources, grant information, and future business-support initiatives being developed through Campfire Crypto.

WafflesX found the Doginal Dogs community around the 2025 U.S. presidential inauguration and discovered more than an NFT project: a community of creators, builders, and people committed to showing up for one another. That experience reinforced a core belief behind the brand: the most valuable parts of Web3 are often not the charts or floor prices, but the relationships, shared learning, and communities people build together.

WafflesX did not begin as a social-media creator. Before discovering Doginal Dogs, WafflesX had no audience and no established online platform. Entering that community opened a new world of conversations, live spaces, creators, and people learning in public.

Building WafflesX has become part of that journey: learning how to communicate ideas, create more meaningful content, contribute to conversations, and grow alongside a community of people trying to build something real. WafflesX is not presented as finished or all-knowing; it is an evolving record of learning, investing, creating, and becoming more useful over time.
