Doginal Dogs is a collection of 10,000 pixel-art dog NFTs inscribed directly on the Dogecoin blockchain — launched in January 2024 as a completely free mint, it has since become one of the biggest NFT success stories of this crypto cycle.
What Makes Them Unique
Unlike traditional NFTs that point to images stored externally, each Doginal Dog is permanently embedded into the Dogecoin blockchain itself using the Doginals inscription protocol (Dogecoin's version of Bitcoin Ordinals). This means they can never be altered, deleted, or lost — the art lives on-chain forever.
The Origin Story
Co-founded by Christian "Barkmeta" Barker and David "Shibo/GodsBurnt" Chaboki, the collection was inspired by Barker's real Doberman, Atlas. The founders covered all gas fees personally, launched with zero presale, zero VC funding, and zero reserved founder allocation — every dog went to the community for free.
The Numbers (as of late March 2026)
Floor price: ~44,900 DOGE (~$4,100 USD) — up over 40,000% from launch
Cumulative trading volume: exceeded $1 billion
Market cap: ~$41 million
Only 2% of the collection is listed for sale, making supply extremely tight
Community & Culture
The project has run a daily live presence for over 1,000 consecutive days and has hosted 20+ in-person events across New York, Las Vegas, Miami, and Toronto. It's been called the "defining NFT collection of the current cycle" as Ethereum-based NFTs declined in value.
